Pinterest Pick 3!: September

Hi there!

Today I'm linking up with Inspired Owl's Corner, Just Reed Teaching, and Pawsitively Teaching for Pinterest Pick 3:

I'm still in shock that it's September! 2016 has been a blur.

One of the first things I'm hitting hard this year for both my 3rd and 4th graders is character traits. The pins I'm highlighting are some great resources to teach about this important topic!

I absolutely love Kelli from Tales of a Tenacious Teacher's post on how she teaches character traits:

I love how she leads her students to see the difference between traits and feelings, and how it all ends up with them going back to the text to find support. So amazing! I can't wait to do this with my kiddos!

I also love this chart from The Teacher Trap:

I think this is a great way to show the difference between physical traits and personality traits. Her accompanying post has more great ideas for teaching about character traits!

Finally, this awesome acronym from the Peppy Zesty Teacherista:

What a fantastic way to get your students to really go in depth with studying characters! I can imagine all kinds of great conversations happening as students use this anchor chart to organize their thoughts.

What are your favorite resources for teaching character traits?

  1. Great character trait ideas. Love the index cards. Have a lovely school year. :)

  2. Awesome ideas for teaching character traits! The kiddos will have that difficult concept down with the concrete practice. Thank you for sharing and linking up with us! :)

  3. The character traits poster and acronym are great! Thanks for sharing!

  4. I love that character traits anchor chart - some people are just so artistic and creative!

  6. I'm really loving that STEAL poster! That seems like a great tool to use at the middle school level:) I love the on the inside/on the outside poster too! I don't think I could draw that well, though! I didn't know about this Pinterest linkup, so thanks for sharing! Where do you find out about all of these great link-ups?:)

I have a link up going (permanently) for classroom contract/expectations ideas. If you could link a post to it, that would be great! I'd love to get people sharing their ideas:)
