Pinterest Pick 3!: June

It is June (YAY!) and this means it is time to link up with Pawsitively Teaching, Just Reed, and Inspired Owl's Corner for Pinterest Pick 3!

I'll be starting my summer break soon (one week from now!) and although I have lots of plans for rest and relaxation, I also want to make sure I am relatively productive during my time off. Something I'm looking forward to is establishing a morning routine that helps me focus and stay positive for the rest of the day.

If you've been following my blog for the last few months, you know that I'm a big fan of the Bullet Journal movement...it's really helped me focus on my tasks for school, the blog, TpT, and life in general! As I started looking for ideas on how to set up my journal and what to include, I was frequently referred to Kara's site (side note: if you are interested at all in journaling, mindfulness, goal setting, etc. I highly encourage you to check out Boho Berry...she is amazing)!

I've incorporated a lot of Kara's ideas into my journal (#totalfangirl) but am really intrigued by her morning routine, which was inspired by the routine described in Hal Elrod's Miracle Morning. Even though Kara does a great job of explaining the routine, I plan on reading Miracle Morning some time over the next week to make sure I fully grasp everything. I also found these pins to help me, and maybe they will help you, too!

This amazing infographic outlines all the steps of SAVERS, the routine described in Miracle Morning, I love the tagline at the top: If you win the morning, you win the day! I know for me personally, I am able to get much more accomplished if I wake up early (even when I don't *have* to) and focus on my tasks for the day, so this routine is right up my alley! Even though I already do some of these things on a semi-regular basis, I don't do it in a focused, intentional way, which I think SAVERS will help with.

As you can see, the "A" in SAVERS stands for "affirmations." Let me be the first to say I am definitely not the type to walk around spouting positive phrases to myself, so I definitely am going to need a little help in this department! I found this "8 Morning Affirmations" pin that's pretty in line with my personal philosophy. I might copy these into my journal to re-read every morning, or practice my hand lettering using each affirmation. We'll see how it goes!

The second S in SAVERS stands for "Scribing," or journaling. Although I like to write, I can have a hard time getting started when staring at a blank page, so I'm thinking these journal prompts from Hello Neverland may help. I really like the idea of formatting them as letters to different people!

Be sure to check my blog later this summer, so you can see how SAVERS is working for me! I can't wait to get started! I think this routine will help get me re-focused and re-energized this summer, so I am ready to attack the upcoming school year!

You can find me on Pinterest HERE.

What do you think about Miracle Morning and SAVERS? Do you have a morning routine you swear by?

  1. I'm intrigued by your first pin! I wake up and work on TpT or things for my classroom every morning. I used to go for a walk first thing in the morning. Maybe I need to revisit that! Thank you for sharing and liking up with us! :)

  3. I always love the idea of getting up early to have quiet time, but when morning comes I always want more sleep. I like the SAVERS idea though. Maybe I'll have to give it another try this summer. Thanks for the ideas!

    1. If I'm not awake and active by a certain time, I tend to just be lazy all day. I try to be productive in the morning and then reward myself with an afternoon nap! Thanks for stopping by :)

  4. I loved the morning affirmations. I like to start the day at school with a handshake and " Marvelous Monday!" or "Terrific Tuesday!"
    Thanks for sharing.
