Five for Friday 10/9/15

Compared to last week, this week felt like it lasted about a minute! Thanks for joining me for Five for Friday, hosted by Doodle Bugs Teaching.

Enjoy the randomness below...

Even though I definitely identify with Chuck up there, I had a lot of fun teaching this week.  We did this Singular and Plural Noun Sort from my Nouns Power Pack:

Not only was it good grammar practice, it was an opportunity to model and review expectations for when we do activities that involve cutting and gluing. Anyone else out there wondering if their students had ever seen scissors or glue before this school year?!?!?

We also practiced working with partners while completing a main idea graphic organizer. I love the articles on for these kinds of activities.

I was really enjoying walking around and hearing the academic conversations the kids were having. These two did a great job of discussing whether or not the details they chose to write down supported the main idea!

In non-school news, the Florida Panthers had an event for their Season Seat Owners this week. I was totally in it for the free food (which was delicious), but managed to grab a picture with Jaromir Jagr as well:

It's not every day you get to take a picture with a legend! Can't wait for the first game of the season on Saturday.

I'm in a mushy mood this week. Despite all the challenges this school year has brought, I wake up every morning knowing I'm a lucky, lucky girl.

Head over to Doodle Bugs Teaching to share your Five for Friday! Have a great weekend!
