Five for Friday, Late Pass Edition

Well, Friday has come and gone, but I still had to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday. Better late than never, right?

Just going to leave this here.

In a new record, I made it to the end of the 3rd week of school before catching a cold.  Celebrating with green tea, cough drops and Alka Seltzer Cold and Flu tablets.

My students are really enjoying using my Spelling Choice Board for their homework.  We are slowly but surely getting through doing examples of all the activities in class. They really love writing with the words with their opposite hand for some reason!

I couldn't sleep last night (thanks, sore throat!) so I got pretty far into my new book:

I thought The Good Girl was an interesting read, so I figured I would try this one. It's one of those books where the end of each chapter leaves you in suspense, so you want to keep reading...but at the same time, none of the characters are really likable? Anyone read either of Mary Kubica's books? What do you think?

I'm very happy to have another three day weekend. Gives me a chance to spend the day snuggled up with my homemade, tried-and-true cold remedies: Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls and Ben Affleck movies (the more terrible the movie, the more healing power it holds).

Watch this the next time you're sick, I guarantee you'll be better by the end of the movie. :)

Hope you have a great weekend! Don't forget to link up with Five for Friday!

  1. Three weeks before you caught a cold! Great job! I didn't lose my voice this year, so I consider that a win. Head tilts are tough, but I prefer them to blank stares! Feel better soon!
    Laughter and Consistency

  2. Oooo, I like the idea of the spelling choice board! I'm not sure if it'll be relevant for my students or not, but I wishlisted it just in case :)
