Five for Friday

Happy Friday!

I'm linking up for the first time with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

Excited to be a part of this for the first time after being a blog stalker for years...

Well, you can only stay away for so long...

The "teacher store" (as I refer to it to my man friend) was on the way home from lunch, so I figured I'd get it out of the way before the crowds start forming. Thankfully I got paid this week, because things certainly aren't getting any cheaper! I curse my love of borders!

I printed and laminated these awesome Synonym Subway Art posters from The Brown Bag Teacher.

I was lucky to grab these as a freebie at the beginning of the month...they will look great in my classroom!

I read the book Setting Limits in the Classroom over the summer and absolutely loved it. I whipped up this set of rules/expectations for me and my teammate (we're a small school...2 classes per grade!):

Can't wait to implement these this year. I highly recommend the book if you haven't read it.

Does anyone else watch the show Rectify? I binge watched the first two seasons on Netflix and am now watching the third season on the Sundance Channel. The pace is a bit slow but I love the story line, and the main character, Daniel, is oddly charming (even though he may-or-may-not-have-done-something-very-bad). I like when shows are a bit ambiguous! In any case, it's much better than True Detective has been this season. Ugh!

I'm halfway through 30 Days of Yoga on YouTube, and I'm loving it. The instructor, Adriene, does a great job of explaining proper form, but at the same time encouraging you to "find what feels good" and not necessarily worry about if you can stretch your body into a pretzel or not. For the record, I cannot. I'm hoping to continue with her other videos once school begins because there is absolutely NO  REASON I can't fit 20 minutes of yoga into my day. No equipment, don't have to leave the house, don't even have to wear shoes! I think I can manage it.

Make sure to add your own link to Doodle Bugs Teaching and join in the fun!

  4. I'm glad I discovered your blog! I've managed to avoid the teacher store but have spent more than enough on Amazon. It's so convenient to have things delivered right to your door! I've been watching Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped, Gilmore Girls, and Enterprise on Netflix this summer. My husband and I like our Star Trek. We can't really be considered Trekkies, though. No costumes.
